Recently, I have been playing a lot of basketball with my son. It’s been a little random considering he hasn’t wanted to play basketball for close to 2 years now. Its great that he is interested in trying out for the local basketball league though. So, I have been going outside and running drills with him to help get him ready for tryouts. I must say, I would never have been able to do what I am now with him if I had not lost the weight. I am so thankful for that decision. Honestly its like a new world is opened up to me now. I am more active and can do things with my son that would have been near impossible before. Beyond that, it has awakened an awareness in him to become more active on his own. I still hope for the day that I can come home from work and see him playing basketball outside instead of a video game in the living room.
So the message today is simply this… get active! Think of something you could be doing instead of sitting and watching TV. What can you do to get you heart pumping? What can you do with the family to get you ALL active? Get out there and do it! Not only will your body thank you, but you will be able to spend good quality time with your family.
