Healthy for the Holidays

Healthy for the Holidays

This is the time of year when everyone seems to want to eat a lot. I think its because the food is so available. There are parties and functions and get togethers and …. well you name it. What do you do when the food looks so good and is right there in front of you. YOU EAT IT!!! that’s what you do. I use to be in this exact mind set. I was one of the worst when it came to this, and at times I still battle this. With everything that has been going on in the past year, the worry of going pack to old habits is always looming over my head. However, I have learned to monitor what I am doing and what my problem areas are… and what I still need to work on daily. I am not perfect by no means, however my self-control has definitely increased. There will always be those moments where you see something that looks so good and you just want to eat it (ex. pecan pie, chocolate cake…etc.)! However, being healthy is better than not! I keep that in my head as much as possible. It’s good to indulge a little on the holidays… but know your limitations and recognize your problem areas. If you have a problem with chocolate… then try and stay away from that. It’s like a serious addiction, you have one and you could get two and three… I have been there more than once that’s for sure.

This holiday season, let’s try and get by as healthy as we can. Don’t let the temptations of food, snacks, and deserts run away with your judgement. Tame the desire to go crazy with the eating, and realize that just because there is food there and it’s a party, it doesn’t mean you have to eat as much as you possibly can.

If you get to the point where you can’t control the urge, and you gain a few pounds during the holiday season… contact me and I can help you lose those unwanted pounds.

Let’s start 2019 the right way this year… happier and healthier. Take control of your health. After all, its better to be healthy than not.
